on the occasion of milan design week 2018, cappellini is reinventing timeless classics with cutting-edge developments adapted for contemporary lifestyles. new manufacturing solutions seek to expand upon the craftsmanship and heritage synonymous with the brand. jasper morrison is presenting ‘o-cap’, the technological evolution of his 2013 ‘cap-chair’ — a development which furthers the complexity of its manufacturing.

drawing from ancient italian leather art, ‘o-cap’ is embodied by its full-grain or pigmented leather body, with raw cut edges. morrison imagines the body of the chair as its soul, bringing support and softness to the metal framework. this structural system has been reduced to its absolute minimum, while still offering stability and lightness. the aluminium base has been completely redesigned to create an effect of weightlessness, and is available with four spokes with tips, five spokes, and with-or-without casters.

presented by cappellini at salone del mobile, ‘o-cap’ can be adapted to suit office and lounge spaces, while also maintaining a strong character in any residential context.
