Chick-fil-A isn’t just the most popular fast-food chain in Georgia, it dominates the US

Customers all over the nation flock to Chick-fil-A to indulge in the Georgia-based franchise’s perfectly seasoned, breaded chicken sandwiches, crispy waffle fries, hand-spun milkshakes or other popular menu items.

And, according to a new ranking from Foursquare and Business Insider on the most popular fast-food chain in each state, Chick-fil-A obliterates most of its competition.

Analysts examined which restaurant chains are most-visited in each state by dividing the total number of visits by the number of locations in the state.

Chick-fil-A took home top honors in all but 12 places.

It must hurt the AJC terribly to admit that people like the evil Christian business so much. Especially since it's not just the food they like but the atmosphere that comes from treating both employees and customers like human beings, the way Christians are supposed to treat people.

Yeah, I have to watch my blood sugar as well. There is a U-turn under the freeway near where I live that I never use because on the other side of the freeway is a Chick-fil-A. The traffic in the U-turn is always stacked with cars because they are lining up to go into the Chick-fil-A drive-thru.

CFA is amazing, relative to the competition. Clerks are always cheerful, helpful, articulate, often bring food to table. Food is consistently good for what it is.

Competitors radiate a sense of “yeah, we’re here.” Clerks are often glazed over, mumble, seem mildly annoyed (but even that phrase implies more effort than I intend) at having to interact. Food just kinda is, cold fries are common, and often one problem cascades into a deluge of “OMG they got _that_ wrong TOO?”.

I’d like to do fast food other than CFA, but...then I’d have to eat there.

I used to eat a lot at Taco Bell. It’s the closest thing to “healthy” in fast food (can’t do salads), and their rather excellent iPhone app meant I could order & pay without having to interact with anyone* beyond pickup.

(* - oddly, using the app seemed to make the staff get to know me better, were more cheerful than when I used normal ordering, etc.)

I have heard before that CFA has very low turnover compared to other fast food places.

I once was checking out a night class at my local community college. Some kind of Business 101 deal. Must have been about 2015 or so. The professor was a youngish black man. He handed us an article about CFA to read and get response/feedback from the class. It was regarding CFA being a Christian-run business. I’ll try to see if I can find it again.

Anyway, this older, white, very fat and ugly woman on the left totally went off on the restaurant. It was quite disturbing and venomous. The level of absolute hate and ugliness that these people demonstrate is something else. She was completely unhinged. If she had absolute power, there is no doubt she would have had every restaurant closed and the higher ups done harm to.

I’m going for an interview with them on Wednesday for a part-time job. If I get it, it will be my first foray back into the working world since 1999. I think it will be good for me.

I went into a local one the other day...my kids and I for breakfast as they were off last Thursday from school. We had the nicest lady working there interact with us while we sat and ate. Just genuinely nice. She radiated warmth. My daughter said to me, “I want that lady for an aunt or grandma!” :)

Average CFA restaurant: $4 million revenue and increasing.

McDonalds: $2.4 revenue and decreasing.

I wish there was one near me. I love chicken sandwiches.

I noticed yesterday that they are building a new Burger King in Geneva, Alabama. They will now have most of the common fast food chains but none I really want to frequent.

Every CFA in my area is regularly busy. The only time not so much that I have seen is around closing at 10 p.m.

The Chik-fil-A grilled chicken on multi-grain bun is awesome.

One thing I would suggest to them - have some lower-priced items.

Last time I was there - two meals with drinks (plus my desired side of Chicken Strips with buffalo sauce) - about $25. 2 people. Sure, not big dinner prices.

So sometimes I hit my local McD (up the road a bit) where I get a 1/4 Cheeseburger, fries, drink AND a free 1/4 Cheeseburger (for next day) for about $5.74 plus tax. They are probably the cheapest McD around here. Most others it’s about $6.74 for that.

It doesn’t matter what time of day we go to Chick-fil-A, there’s always a line.
