Xenoblade Chronicles 2 Update Will Make Tiger! Tiger! Easier And Improve Maps

A new Xenoblade Chronicles 2 update has been announced via the official Japanese website. Update 1.1.1 is on the way on December 22, 2017 for Japan and December 21, 2017 in North America. It will add to Tiger! Tiger! and the map, fix some known bugs, and provide bonus items for Expansion Pass owners.

The Tiger! Tiger! enhancement might be among the most welcome changes. The minigame will receive an Easy Mode, for those that are struggling. The mini-map will let you press the left analog stick to get a better view of surroundings. Also, in Skip Travel, you can press X to see the map of the current location for faster fast travel. These improvements come ahead of a planned January 2018 update that will allow Dromarch and Pyra to join mercenary teams, get LV4 Blade skills, or befriend certain Blades. (That update will arrive alongside the January 2018 DLC Pack 2.)

Xenoblade Chronicles 1.1.1 will fix three specific, known bugs. The most notable one is the “Something in Common” Event Theater cutscene issue that will make the camera sway after viewing it, and sway permanently if you save after viewing the cutscene and reload that save. It also fixes two Gormott Province sidequests where certain items (in one instance a Healing Herb and in another a Pure White Helmet) will not be added to the Quest Log even if acquired.

Expansion Pass owners will also receive a bundle of support items on this day. They will get five Jenerossi Teas (that Pyra loves), five Ardainian Bear Carvings (that Nia loves), 30,000 Ether for Poppi upgrading, 10 Rare Core Crystals, one Legendary Core Crystals, and three Overdrive Protocols that allow you to swap a Blade between Drivers.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is available for the Nintendo Switch.
