Paramedics were called to the Washington home of Justice Sonia Sotomayor Friday morning, but a Supreme Court spokeswoman said the justice was not hospitalized and went to work Friday after being treated for low blood sugar.

"She experienced symptoms of low blood sugar at her home this morning. She was treated by emergency medical services and is doing fine," court spokeswoman Kathy Arberg told POLITICO. "She's at work and following her usual schedule and will be participating in all planned activities over the weekend."

The episode caused concern to some neighbors of the 63-year-old justice, who lives in an apartment near Washington's Shaw and Columbia Heights neighborhoods.

Sotomayor was diagnosed as a child with Type 1 diabetes, which she now controls through a combination of synthetic insulin injections, glucose tablets and regular checks of her blood sugar.

"...blood sugar..."

Diabetes sucks. It is an unfortunate condition for her to have to face.

Yeah, we can tell from her appearance she’s really a stickler about her diabetes. Guffaw.

They gave her a Snickers bar and charged her insurance company $1000.

Poor Wise Latina.

She should step down. Retire. For the sake of her health.

If she is such a wise Latina why doesn’t she eat healthy and lose weight?

Type 1 diabetes is very bad, worse than type 2. She is insulin dependent, and will face challenges of atherosclerosis and renal failure in the future, if not already. Very bad. Hopefully she will retire to take care of her medical issues. I wonder why DingleBarry would appoint someone with such a bad disease. Sotomayor won’t last as long as others on the SC.

Wow—would be something if one of Obama’s Supreme Court Justices were effectively undone during the Trump admin as well.

Stress can make a diabetic sugar level go erratic.

Maybe she knows what’s in the memo? I suspect all of the Supreme Court Justices were spied on as well.

"...Type 1 diabetes is bad..."

I have family members who are marathoners who have to contend with that horrible condition.
Her getting Type 1 was not by lifestyle or choice. I would not wish it on anyone.

Well, if she was a type 1 diabetic (she is) her weight is not as much of an issue.

He thought that she was a “wise latina” and he also thought that Hitlery was going to follow him and remake the court. Probably thought that she was going to put him on the court at some point.
