Donald Trump would not win the presidential election if it were held today because of the numerous sexual allegations against him and the “Me Too” movement that has swept the country in recent weeks, Democratic Congresswoman Jackie Speier said Sunday.
More than a dozen women came forward during last year’s presidential campaign to accuse Trump of sexual assault or harassment. He was also caught on an infamous “Access Hollywood” recording bragging about sexually assaulting women. Yet, just weeks later, he was elected president following a victory over Hillary Clinton. However, in the wake of a wave of women coming forward across almost every industry with accusations of sexual misconduct, Speier said that the result would now be different.
“If the president was running today, I bet he would not be elected because I think we have had a huge cultural shift that is 40 years in the making,” the California representative CBS’ Face the Nation. “But I think all of us are grateful now that there is a new day for women in the workplace where they do not have to put up with sexual advances that are unwanted, that they do not have to live and work in a hostile environment and that’s going to be good for all of us in the workplace.”(continued)

I think that what has actually happened is the Demondog voters have stopped blindly ignoring the peccadilloes of their own party members.
The way Republicans responded to the Judge Roy Moore accusation was exactly correct. Point to Clinton, Hastings, Mendez, Foley, and Frankin. They turned the Alinsky tables on the Deamondogs and made them live up THIER own standards.
Until the Demondogs deal with the pervasive, at all levels of rapist, murderers, and corrupt tin-pots at all levels of their party it is perfectly OK if a Republican candidates chase a little under-aged tail.
And, Bill Clinton WOULD? Using the same reasoning, making that wild assumption that liberal can hold a single thought in their mind across two independent hypotheticals. Which is a stretch. Let’s see. Clinton actually raped women. Trump, as far as we know....*talked* about groping them. Talking about it is helluva lot worse, of course, using liberal math.
By the way, Rutherford B. Hayes probably would not win either. Eisenhower would not win either. Barring his looks, John Kennedy could not run as a Democrat candidate today. Jackie. You know that? Even if he had a wife named the same as you? So shut your mouth.

In the end, the net effect of treating the trivial and made-up allegations with the same seriousness that is warranted for actual crimes and egregious behavior will be to de-sensitize everyone to the issue of sexual harassment. If a sitting Senator can get away with actual crimes documented in photos, then lockerroom chatter by a candidate isn’t going to move anyone’s needle.
