Heavenly Father,

Great are You, Lord, and greatly to be praised. We speak of the glorious honor of Your majesty, and of Your wondrous works. May we always utter the memory of Your great goodness, and sing of Your righteousness. For You are gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy. You are good to all; and Your tender mercies are over all Your works.

Father, we need Your help, for we confess that America must repent of its moral depravity. We are delving deeper and deeper into the pit, and You are the only way out. Help us to turn from our evil ways, Lord. Repentance must start with each one of us. As individuals, help us to hold ourselves to the highest standard---that of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Help us to share the love, grace, mercy, and forgiveness of our Savior with others. Help us to remember the Cross always. Father, You have promised to preserve all who love You. Help us to speak the praise of our Savior, and let all flesh bless Your Holy Name forever and ever. Call the people of this nation to bow before You and may our mouths confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.

Holy Lord, we know that the help of our military comes from You. We confess that You keep our troops and that You are their shade upon their right hand. You preserve them from all evil, whether they are going out or coming in. Even forevermore, You care for them. Lord, may respect be shown by all Americans for our military, our police, our fire fighters, and all those who protect us. May we hold dear that which unites us as Americans and that which symbolizes our common bond of allegiance. Your Word tells us that blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Help us to be that nation, Father. We pray for our President to continue to be strong and to stand for truth and liberty in America. We ask You to give him supernatural courage, wisdom, boldness, and perseverance in this battle for the heart and soul of this nation. Thank You for our President’s support of Israel and his understanding of Your promise to bless those who bless her.

Save us from this present evil day, Lord God. We wait for You, Lord. Our souls wait, and in Your Word do we hope. Let all of Israel hope in the Lord from now and evermore. In the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

I’m posting for prayers, that Freepers pray for me. That’s all. Jesus is great and I have one more obstacle to overturn in my life, Alcoholism. There is not one family on this Earth that has not experienced some sort of drug or alcohol problem. My 10 dollar payment here per month will add another tool in my toolbox to assist me getting better.

Any help about folks here trying to clean up will help me. I am now giving in because I really have too.

When you decide to quit- one thing that really helped me was to count the hours that i was free (in my case it was cigarettes) and to tell myself over and over and over that I was not going to waste the last several hours of being free from ciggs- Kept saying to self “I made it 6 hours- I’m not going to waste those 6 hours- I can make another hour”

For me it was about not wasting all the effort and suffering i had already been through as the hours rolled along- for me it was enough motivation- but we’re all different- some quit by convincing themselves they would save a ton of money- some by convincing themselves they were getting better/healthier as each hour rolled by- some refused to let a substance control them any longer- etc-

Ask God to help You to find the strength and will and motivation to quit- and remember- failure is just a temporary setback un til the day you decide to be free- It took me almost 20 years to get serious enough about quitting that i finally succeeded when God gave me enough strength of will to quit- and He kept reminding me through it all that the suffering of quitting was not to be wasted- and to keep on ‘just one more hour’ then ‘just one more week’ then month-

Set Small goals- (but you’ll have to find some HEALTHY way to celebrate each small milestone)

Meh- it’s never easy- Some folks God just seems to help the first time they ask= others like me have to struggle for many years - I had many people praying for me over the years- but for some reason I struggled for a long time- Maybe God had lessons for me that i needed to learn through the struggles- I don’t know- Hope your issue gets resolved soon

Love you. Who spends time to help other than grateful people that have endured hardship. I’m done with smokes, coffee... prescrips, my last obstacle is alcohol.

Heavenly Father, We thank You for Faith’s Prayer for America’s deliverance from the evil darkness permeating across our land and for Dj13668’s request for the deliverance from alcoholism. Father in Heaven, I come to Thee this day, praising You for Who You Are, the One and Only God Who made all things, the One Who exists in three Persons — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — from before there ever was anything called “time”, Thou Who Art Holy in every way, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, even from eternity to eternity, You alone are God, and You alone are worthy to be praised and worshipped. We come to You in worship, through Jesus Christ our Lord, Your Son (because there is no other way by which we can come, and because it pleases us so greatly to do so — thank You for the privilege).
It is with great joy and confidence that we come in prayer on behalf of our nation, and our President, who, though he be an accomplished man, has no way of knowing how to proceed correctly unless You impart to him the benefit of Your Thoughts, Your Ways, Your Means — for those are infinitely higher than those possessed by any of us, Your creatures. So please, Father, allow Donald Trump the benefit of Your perspective, as You see the end from the beginning, and everything in-between, please allow him to see as You see, and to do as You would do — Your Will be done — on earth as it is in Heaven.

Of course we will pray for you. We want you free from these chains! My carnal battle was with food. I found that accumulating victorious scriptures and keeping them in your eyes...and MOUTH (therefore, in your ears as you hear the confessions) helped. Meditate on the real you—the one God has made in His image. You are no longer a forgiven sinner but one created as a partaker of His divine nature. He has given you the fruit of self control. His Holy Spirit is your comforter—not alcohol. You can do all things through Him who strengthens you.

We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin. (Romans 6:6 NLT)
Those who are dominated by the sinful nature think about sinful things, but those who are controlled by the Holy Spirit think about things that please the Spirit. (Romans 8:5 NLT)
