GERMANY'S top stock index was flashing red after shares in the country's biggest carmakers plunged over a fresh investigation into the diesel emission scandal.

The DAX tumbled to its lowest level in more than three months, as investors rushed to sell Volkswagen, Daimler and BMW.

The manufacturing giants are being probed amid allegations of collusion over diesel emission treatment systems and cost agreements.

Fears of heavy fines helped send share prices down by around three per cent.

Nothing compared to the crash of all values once the Muslim invasion brings economic activity to a complete halt.

You’d think Merkel would be happy the evil polluting cars that give people horrible horrible freedom are dying.

Oh yeah.. like Hillary’s healthcare plan that would pay for healthcare with cigarette taxes, Merkel was going to fund her socialist, green, utopia with car sales...

Idiots.

Fake news.

As I write this the DAX (German Stock Market) is up 0.29%.

I wish every market crash was like this.

Absolutely fake news.

DAX is up 2,000 points over this point last year. While I would agree it’s down 500 points over the past thirty days...only some of the downward trend relates to the car industry (in particular VW).

If you go down the 30 German companies making up the DAX...only ONE is a car company.

Germany, Mexico, Korea etc. all dump their vehicles here for good profit.
Try purchasing a Cadillac or Harley Davidson in these or most other places. The import duties are usually severe.
Trump is right, attach an import duty on ALL these and put a stop to allowing other countries to profit off us but not us off them.
Seems the only thing others get from us is food grains, airplanes medicine and military hardware.
Cause they usually do not produce these too well.

I've been buying German diesels for a while now.But having recently become disgusted by the policies of that filthy East German (Merkel) I won't be buying any more. However,Jaguar is offering an interesting diesel in the US which I'll seriously consider.

No filthy "environmentalist" is gonna take my diesels from me.

Thank you! For a moment I thought I had actually missed the DAX crash. I have been watching VW closely for a serious stock crash. Not a big deal so far. Of course it took years for Tanaka to crash.

I saw an interesting video comparison between a diesel sedan and the first gen Prius . in this home they are known as pious. It was hot summer and with the a/c on when needed, the diesel beat the pious in mpg, comfort, style and power. Now the unaffordable, taxpayer subsidized Teslas are a different story. I have heard they are fast and responsive.
To partially quote Bernie.. we are the only super power... without several nuclear energy plants.. when we get those, or some great substitute, I will get a hybrid.. if they are affordable.
O, the diesel sedan in the comparison video, not for sale in the US.. gee I wonder why?

I've read that there was a time when diesel cars were a joke. Noisy...dirty....so slow and sluggish that they couldn't even get out of their own way. That includes Mercedes and Volvo. And then in this country there were the GM diesels of the 70's....they were a disaster.Very poorly designed and manufactured.

But today's diesels are much, much better.Among the many, many things I like about my current one is 53MPG Highway (actual figure, not EPA rating) and a cruising range of 700+ miles between fillups.

So why can’t we have them here? Why are we subsidizing tesla? We live in a #corruptocracy.

We can have them here. The main problem is that there's no demand here thanks,to a large degree,to the points I already made. The typical American either has no opinion on diesel or a very negative one.

Why are we subsidizing tesla?

Obama..."progressives"...

Drove a Renault Trafic van all over Europe in 2010. 2.0 liter diesel, stick shift; got 26 mpg loaded to the gills with nine people and suitcases, driving 80 mph.

I would have bought one if they sold it in the states. Nissan had a version in the U.S., but I only saw cargo vans with much larger displacement gasoline engines.

I disagree. After watching that test drive, I wanted one. They just don’t sell them here. In this great big country of ours.. a diesel is great! But it is illegal to import one. Wonder why? (Rhetorical)
