Freedom Caucus appears to be getting on board with "Repeal and Replace" (Hannity Show)

Posted on 03/22/2017 8:28:55 PM PDT by SamAdams76

Congressmen Mark Meadows and Dave Brat, who have up to now been dead set against Ryan's "Repeal and Replace" bill were on the Hannity Show (towards the end) tonight both looking like the cat that ate the canary. Apparently much progress has been made on the "Repeal and Replace" bill and they are now optimistic that the revised bill is very close to getting the necessary votes tomorrow to pass the House.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and predict that Ryan's bill has been gutted and rewritten to satisfy the Freedom Caucus (a congressional caucus consisting of the most conservative House members). If so, this will be another stunning late-hour victory for President Trump.

I know many of us here (including myself) would rather have Obamacare be simply repealed. But if the Freedom Caucus is on board with a replacement plan, well, they have my attention.

It will be a very interesting day tomorrow as the revised plan is revealed. I have a feeling that the Democrats, who have been crowing that the bill is "dead on arrival" and that Obamacare will stand, will be in for a big surprise.

Perhaps all this drama has been orchestrated to throw the Democrats off their game. If the Republicans show up tomorrow united, with an overhauled plan to repeal Obamacare, the Democrats will be caught flat-footed and before they can scramble to the microphones to denounce the plan, it will have passed in the House.

As for the Senate, that's a battle for another day. But we could see some real fireworks tomorrow.

Some serious "Art of the Deal" stuff seems to be going on behind the scenes.

We’ll see soon enough. Karl Rove (I know, I know) is on O’Reilly right now saying that 25 members of the Freedom Caucus still say they’ll vote no, which would make the bill fail by 3 votes. It looks like a toss-up.

If the Freedom Caucus comes on board with this, the changes better be significant.

Not tired of winning at all.

And you want to hear something eyebrow raising . . . I’ll bet they get a couple of Dem votes. The bill moved rightward, but I’ll bet a couple from Trump districts vote yes.

Now the “centrists” IE:RINOs are the ones blocking Trump’s bill. Charlie Dent leading them.
Trump has the right enemies.

I didn’t predict anything, but was pretty sure Ryan would have to give. He isn’t going to let the bill fail, and neither will Trump.

Excellent.

As I mentioned on another related thread I posted:

“Conservatives and Republicans need to realize that the most important thing is to repeal Obamacare now and replace it with anything. Since there is a Republican majority, the new replacement can still be adjusted and tweeked later, but Obamacare must be repealed now!

Vote for this bill! “

Trump, House leaders, conservatives working on health care deal

I'm putting 5 bucks on a no vote. I think this bill is DOA.

Republicans have been promising a full repeal for how many years now ?.

Full repeal now. Then fix the rest in stage two and three. Not tweak it now and never get to stage two and three.

We ain't kicking that football any more Lucy !

I can’t believe that FoxNews is still hauling out that canned ham (Rove) every night. Do they have a lifetime contract with him that they can’t get out of? Karl Rove hasn’t been correct on anything for about 10 years.

I agree. It is going to be Paul Ryan who blinks first. However if the votes are not there he needs to pull the bill.

Almost exactly what I said in another thread.

This is Trump doing a deal. Never lead with your final position.

It may turn out he used Ryam’s bill to capture all the moderates before showing them the real hardware.

If anyone needs to get suspended it is Karl Rove. Sheppard Smith needs to get fired.

It will pass, in some form. More changes will be made by the Senate, but Obamacare is DOA, as Linda would say.

The tiny permaclass of purists on FR and elsewhere will not be happy but so it goes. MAGA!

I believe you’re right... it might be more than a couple. Not likely, but very possible with 2018 coming up fast.

The Love Losing Caucus had better get on board.

Should there be a repeal with no replace you will leave thousands out of lunch. What about those whose companies ditched their health care insurance and forced the employees into the exchanges. We don’t want to screw these people over without some kind of replacement.

Cause you know this is a good bill?

Are you kidding? The most conservative members of the house are still against it.

Republicans are gonna #### us again and you’re saying that’s winning?

Trump better be REAL careful about what he signs.

He promised us real health care change and giving healthcare to illegals or the lazy won’t cut it

Let’s see what it brings before praising it or damning it.

Yeah. Why would we expect what we should get with the house/senate and presidency.

What infantile and naive statements here.
