The fact that he is slow walking this is to try to explain to the Appeals Court why he isn’t immediately following their order to follow state decisions in the matter.

Goldstein sounds like a complete a-hole. I would not be surprised if he allows this to continue. Hope I am wrong.
Such a writ should start with: “I will refuse to stop the recount because I care not for the law or the state of Michigan. Come and get me.”

Later, in his mind, equates to sometime next week...and it will be that the count continues based on not losing time if Stein is successful on appeal at the MISC.

He is in the courtroom. This Judge Goldsmith is an activist first and a judge second.He was pretty hard on the state lawyers looking to end the recount. With Stein’s lawyers,he focused more on the cost of the recount and who should pay; the judge has said previously that money should not decide this issue(typical left winger); there was talk of a $5; Stein’s lawyer doesn’t want her to pay anything. Understandable because:

Her donations have slowed to a crawl...right now she is short $2.5 million.
I imagine he will say the recount will continue forcing it back to the appellate court where it will likely be overturned, prompting Stein to request the USSC take the case. It all depends on what Hillary told him to do on the phone last night.

Same here. The law is now whatever a judge decides. Specific laws are simply place holders for situations that a judge has yet to weigh in on.
