PUBG developer identifies a new cheating pattern, looking into new cheat detecting measure

The developer of PUBG shared an update about the ongoing fight against cheaters in the game.

In a blog post, PUBG Corp said that it has performed a data review of 10 million players and millions of data logs.

This revealed a new cheating pattern, which the developer says has been used in over 100,000 instances. The offenders were permanently banned, but PUBG Corp isn't stopping there.

While the developer will continue to check the millions of data logs to identify similar threats, It's also looking into adopting a new cheat detection solution. No details were shared about about what this solution might be, or whether it simply means another third-party anti-cheat software will be added.

One interesting thing, though, is that the killcam and replay feature may not always reflect what happened in the game. PUBG Corp previously encouraged players to use the killcam to report cheaters, but it now appears what you see can't always be taken for granted.

For instance, a common reason to report a player is the use of recoil macros that eliminate all weapon recoil, making some of the most challenging weapons incredibly easy to use, and thus very deadly. While it may look that way in the killcam, it may not actually be the case.

This is caused by a bug in the killcam/replay system, one that PUBG Corp is working on a fix for.

Earlier today, the PC version received a new test server update that makes a few changes to the blue zone in the mid-to-late game.
