the Mrs has been having all sorts of problems with her Amazon Dot trying to connect to TuneIn....keeps dropping the stream.  The bedroom seems to be a wifi nomans land

When my oldest was little, she had one of the early generation voice control pet care games-this would've been about 2005. For some reason, she named her dog on there Linda. She played with that thing for the better part of a ten hour car trip once. Did I mention it wasn't very good at understanding speech, especially the high-pitched voice of a six year old girl? It's still a family joke when we know we aren't getting through to someone to say, "Sit, Linda. Linda. Linda. Sit."

The problem my wife has is that she's too polite with it, she'll ask "can you please turn the lights on" and of course Alexa will ignore her.  She can't remember that the commands have to be short and direct.
