I've been adding a shot of malt vinegar to my Baby Ray's.  It really perks it up.

SBR is simply the best. They sell it at Menards for christ sakes. When I eat my steaks I usually only have ketchup, but once in a while I splurge for good ol sweet baby rays. YuM.

How do tissues survive that long?  was it frozen?

2017-03-28 3:09:22 PM
I will add it to the list of things I like that I shouldn't.

Kraft American cheese
IPAs
ketchup on hot dogs
Sweet Baby Ray's

/I thought for sure there was more...

Even if it was a tissue, isn't the half-life of DNA only like 520 years? So while it might be soft tissue, genetically speaking, there's nothing to test?

So still no pet raptors...

All fail unless cooked well done and slathered in A1.  Almost as good as ketchup on my hotdog or Mrs Buttersworth on my Eggos instead of that terrible crap maple syrup.

Funny, I'm sitting here at work and only about a 10 min walk from Dinosaur.  Could really go for a Carolina pork sandwich, jalapeno mac and cheese, and turkey neck collard greens right about now.  Maybe with an Ape Hangar.

Funny thing is Stubbs was inserted there.  While being good its not like its some rare magical sauce.  Its next to Sweet Baby Rays on the shelf of my grocery store.  I like Stubbs for chicken and Baby Rays for ribs.

/Baby Rays is a good all purpose sauce

The thing I always found amusing about Sweet Baby Ray's is the story on the back of the "original" that talks about inventing the sauce and entering it in some contest and how now I can enjoy the very same recipe in that bottle.

And then you look at the ingredients and the very first ingredient - before tomato paste, before vinegar - is high fructose corn syrup.

Yeah, I'm sure they slaved away testing recipes, stirring over a stove, with varying spices, using HFCS, then entering it in a contest. Yes, yes, I know it's all marketing and lies, it just always made me laugh. And hell, even Heinz BBQ sauce at least waits until the SECOND ingredient before getting to the HFCS.

For a big bbq I usually buy a bunch of the $1 stuff and just mix it with cheap hot sauce. Sam's Choice and Louisiana Supreme.

Serve it at the table with two or three bottles of better stuff. Jack Daniels Smokehouse for the woman and children and Lefty's spices for anyone who likes a little heat.

Its really all about the cook, the hfcs will caramelize out of even the cheapest of sauces.

They don't sell Arthur Bryant's in St. Joseph.
