during london design festival 2016, tingest will be showcasing their 2016 collection as part of the swedish design pavilion. the scandinavian brand pays tribute to its heritage, manufacturing the majority of the items in sweden with carefully selected skilled craftsmen and based on a design and commitment to natural materials, sustainability, and ecology. ‘for me, this is a long-standing vision: of creating and manufacturing exclusive home décor items hallmarked by design excellence, fine craftsmanship and local manufacture in sweden’, says alexander lervik, the creative force behind tingest.

tingest’s 2016 collection is composed of the ‘dimma’ family made up of a chair, a stool and a table. the chair references the iconic thonet bistro chair, acting as a contemporary variant of it. made of powder-coated steel, its seating surface appears to float above the frame. the stool was motivated by the stools found in british pubs, that instead of being upholstered, it was been lightened up with the power-coated steel. as for the table, also made of the same material, a dynamism can be perceived thanks to the wait light, air and water can pass through it.
