My Style, My Neighborhood

Model and Instagram star Joey Zauzig has lived in a handful of different New York City neighborhoods—but Soho, the downtown Manhattan fashion district he calls home at the moment, is by far his favorite.

“A lot of people see Soho as touristy, but I step out the door to all these walks of life, and to a different vibe every day,” Zauzig says. “It’s the liveliest part of New York, in my opinion.” Another bonus: the historic cast-iron architecture and cobblestone streets are grade-A Instagram backdrops. In his own words and images, here’s a typical stylish day in the neighborhood.

The Workout. To start my day off right, it’s really important to hit the gym first thing. Fitness and nutrition are really important to me so I try to keep a strict regime during the week. I hit a class, do some weights—whatever I’m up for that day, as long as it feels challenging.

The Refuel.I freshen up at the gym, spray on some Coach for Men Eau de Toilette, and then swing by Summers Soho to grab a post-workout smoothie. I love this little place and the Red Smoothie (strawberries, banana, maca powder) is the best after lifting or a hard workout. I’m healthy, and like to make sure I’m eating the right foods to energize me for a long week!

The Lunchtime Appointment.I’m constantly meeting new people, consulting with brands, and booking my next gig. Charlie Bird is my favorite spot for meetings. It’s a lower-key spot with relaxing vibes, and they always have the freshest fish specials. I’ll get a bomb pasta, if it’s a cheat day.

Afternoon Stroll.I’m always looking for shooting locations in Soho—but it’s also perfect for just getting out of the apartment and taking a breather. I love walking down the street and having every store I’d ever need at my fingertips.

Post-Work Drink.Once my day has wrapped, I stop at home to change clothes for whatever my evening has in store—maybe go from a light jean and t-shirt to a button-down shirt, dark denim, and Coach fragrance for drinks at The Handy Liquor Bar. The atmosphere is classic speakeasy and the people are always fun, young creative types. And let’s face it, after a long day, a tequila soda is very important.
