erwin, the very well known data modeling vendor separated from CA in 2016, is announcing a data governance module in addition to their existing suite of  Data modeling, Enterprise Architecture and Business Process modeling The first release of the data governance is benefiting of the strong metadata repository acquired from Corso and is delivering business glossary, data discovery, governance process and collaboration. In addition, powered by the integrations to its enterprise architecture and data modeling solutions, erwin Data Governance features Data Impact Analysis, to identify how changes in data will impact people, processes and systems.  https://erwin.com/products/data-governance/

As part of their differentiators they already support the Applicability new Data governance domain Forrester is still defining to govern AI and all algorithms based insights as well as another Data Governance 2.0 domain the data monetization to support the contracts management of data supplied and sold.

As it is the first release announced today there are still limitations like the lack of automation/suggestions for naming data stewards, the lack of data and Data Governance valuations which are important to prioritize the Data Governance activities and globally making a more efficient Data Governance. But the product is promising : connecting Data modeling, EA and Business Process information within a unified metamodel allows to develop the new Data Governance 2.0 expectations that enterprise customers are looking for : less driven to support compliance only, more agile while involving and supporting always more stakeholders, more efficient, more delivering the right business outcomes by finding the best compromise between “opposite” constraints and regulations.

Forrester will include them in the next update of the Data Governance Stewardship and Discovery Wave update in 2019. In the mean time use the following research document
