I open with this amazing scene. Realistic and gritty.

Im not sure theres really any valid response to that Frode lol

Saving Private Ryan beach sequence. A++

If it counts, the raid in Zero Dark Thirty.

Yeah, that was really good.

I know this isn't a movie, but the scene in Band of Brothers where Easy Company and Captsin Spiers capture those three artilery guns in Normandy was the best.

Just the sound effects of metal thwipping into the metal barriers in Ryan was enough to bring it home to me that I might have completely lacked the courage to get out of one of those boats.

Let's see... most of what I watch is actual war docs.

J/k. I seriously feel guilty every time I see that scene and laugh at it. The part about reforming their 3 piece band when they get back and him "tickling the ivories" goodness gracious.

You would’ve been cut in half if you stayed in the boat. A lot of the soldiers jumped in the water because the bullets wouldn’t have a lesser chance of hitting them but a lot stayed down so long and drowned. Alsotheir gear was heavy so that added to the drowning. Staying in the boat would’ve been the worst decision but either way you were pretty much fucked in that situation.

Oh, I know it. I'd've been cut in half, filled with bullets. It was get out or die.
But I feel like I would have been shaking and vomiting the whole time

You probably would’ve (been shaking and vomiting). You’d basically be put in an impossible situation and it’d be a miracle for you to survive pretty much, especially if you landed on the beach first. If the damn planes didn’t miss their targets it would’ve been a better day for the Americans that’s for sure.
