Darren Till got a little extra for his pivotal win at UFC Gdansk.
The Englishman earned a $50,000 Performance of the Night bonus for his impressive technical knockout win over welterweight contender Donald Cerrone at Saturday’s UFC event in Gdansk, Poland. From the very beginning of the fight, Till got the better of the striking exchanges, while managing to stop Cerrone’s takedowns. With this performance, Till remained unbeaten in MMA with a record of 16-0-1.
Poland’s Jan Blachowicz was the other Performance of the Night award winner. The 34-year-old veteran scored a second-round submission win over Devin Clark, and managed to put an end to a two-fight losing streak. Blachowicz is now 20-7 as a professional fighter and 3-4 in the UFC. Blachowicz expressed he wanted to fight “Shogun” Rua next at the post-fight press conference.
Additionally, Damian Stasiak and Brian Kelleher also took home an extra $50,000. The two bantamweight fighters earned Fight of the Night awards after their back-and-fourth battle that ended in a third-round technical knockout for Kelleher. With this result, Kelleher is 18-8 in his MMA career and 2-1 since joining the UFC June, while Stasiak is now on a two-fight skid and finds himself with a UFC record of 2-3.
