Jan Blachowicz injured, Ovince Saint Preux gets new opponent for UFC Fight Night 104

UFC Fight Night 82

UFC Fight Night 104 has undergone a slight change.

Light heavyweight Jan Blachowicz has suffered an injury and is out of his bout with Ovince Saint Preux. Saint Preux will now be taking on a late replacement and promotional newcomer Volkan Oezdemir, according to the UFC on Friday.

Saint Preux is returning to the Octagon after suffering a knockout loss to Jimi Manuwa this past October at UFC 204. That fight marked Saint Preux’s second straight loss as he dropped a unanimous decision to former champ Jon Jones prior to his UFC 204 performance. Meanwhile, Oezdemir is 12-1 as a professional fighter with his only loss coming to Kelly Anundson at Bellator 115 back in 2014. Oezdemir has only competed three times in the past three years.

Additionally, the promotion also announced two other pair of changes.

Wales’ John Phillips has been forced to withdraw from his UFC debut against Marcos Rogerio de Lima at next weekend’s UFC on FOX 23. Now, Jeremy Kimball will step up on short notice and make his debut against the Brazilian.

Also, Garreth McLellan will be looking to snap a two-fight losing streak in the UFC, as he replaces Alex Nicholson to fight undefeated promotional newcomer Paulo Henrique Costa at UFC Fight Night 106 in March.
