Jimmy Garoppolo is a hot commodity. After Garoppolo's late-season trade to the floundering 1-10 San Francisco 49ers—in which he threw for more yards in his first five starts than Steve Young and Joe Montana combined—he's got people anxious about what he's going to do in the off-season when he becomes a free agent.

Garoppolo's contract is up in March, and in a league starving for quarterbacks he has just a wee bit of bargaining power after delivering five wins in such a dramatic fashion. But maybe let's just keep ourselves in check with how serious this is?

Former 49ers CEO and president Carmen Policy went on the Bay Area sports radio show 95.7 The Game to talk about the Garoppolo conundrum, and perhaps overstepped his bounds a bit:

Ah yes, nothing says understanding a team from a city known for its LGBTQ friendliness like comparing a situation in which you have essentially no leverage to the unpleasantness of anal sex. Not to mention saying it with the backdrop of the current national dialogue we are having about sexual misconduct.

As we get closer to the NFL draft and team scouts begin anonymously ripping teenagers, just once I'd like to hear one of them rip a Football Man for being a fucking idiot.
