Valencia winger Nani 'looking forward' to taking on Real Madrid as Los Che look to move clear of relegation worry

  • Nani scored as Valencia beat Athletic Bilbao 2-0 in La Liga on Sunday
  • It was Valencia's third win in their last seven games as they eased relegation fear
  • They host Real Madrid on Wednesday who are looking to extend their lead

Valencia winger Nani said he is looking forward to taking on Real Madrid despite the two sides competing at different ends of La Liga.

Real could move four points clear at the top of the table if they beat Nani's Valencia, who have spent the season hovering around the relegation zone.

However three wins and two draws in seven games, including a 2-0 victory over Athletic Bilbao on Sunday, have moved Los Che seven points clear of the bottom three and have put the Portugal winger in a positive frame of mind.

Nani told Omnisport: 'To tell the truth, I am looking forward to this game. It is something to enjoy.

'You play against a big team. It is a team I have played against in the past and it was a different challenge.

'At the moment it's one more game and a game we will try to win. It is a game to enjoy and do your best and be satisfied at the end with what you produced on the pitch.'

Valencia have improved since Voro replaced Cesare Prandelli at the Mestalla in December, the Italian having brought Nani to the club on a free from Fenerbahce in the summer.

Nani will be going up against international and former Manchester United team mate Cristiano Ronaldo in the game on Wednesday.
