Alexis Sanchez latest: Arsenal star ‘willing to take pay cut to join Manchester City’

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez is willing to take a pay cut to seal a reunion with Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, according to reports.

The Chilean forward is entering the final year of his contract with the Gunners and speculation is rife over where his future will lie.

European giants Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have all been linked with moves for the 28-year-old, although boss Arsene Wenger recently insisted the club are not willing to sell him this summer.

However, The Independent reports that Sanchez wants his future resolved in August and would consider a pay cut to force move to the Etihad Stadium.

The South American ace is apparently still refusing to accept a new contract at Arsenal and would be willing to accept lower wages than the £300,000-per-week he is being offered by the Gunners to move to the Etihad Stadium.

Sanchez is also said to be keen on linking up with Pep Guardiola at Man City, who he worked under - and won the LaLiga title with - at former club Barcelona before he joined Arsenal for £30million in 2014.

Sanchez has won two FA Cups since moving to north London but is desperate to win major European honours before the end of his career.

And, with a potential move to Paris Saint-Germain now appearing to be off, the player reportedly sees a move to Man City has his best chance to landing more silverware.

Guardiola has been busy this summer. City have proven they mean business this season with the arrival of FIVE major signings, with Monday’s arrival of Benjamin Mendy from Monaco taking their summer spending to over £200million.
