Earlier this year, SongHouse Games revealed its first title Light of the Mountain, a narrative-driven experience about a man's battle with impending death. The game was originally slated to release this fall but unfortunately, that is no longer the case.

In a recent blog post on the official SongHouse Games website, it was revealed that Light of the Mountain would be pushed from its fall 2017 window and would now arrive in January of 2018. In the blog post talking about the delay of the game, the following was stated:

It's been a little bit since we've given a proper update on the state of Light of the Mountain. We do have a release window that we're ready to announce though it is a bit farther back than we had originally intended. After careful consideration we've decided that Light of the Mountain will released for Playstation 4 and Steam in January of 2018.

Releasing Light of the Mountain in January 2018 will allow us the extra time to be able to put so much more into this game and give it that extra level of polish and refinement we have always wanted it to have. This will allow us to deliver the best possible experience to you all and we feel it will be more than worth the wait.

We know this may disappoint some, but we know that in the end it will have all been worth it!

In addition to the new release window's announcement, this blog post also touched on the possibility of Light of the Mountain coming to Xbox One and Switch. In regards to the game arriving on these platforms, the SongHouse Games said, "We can say for certain that we are looking into these areas, but we can't make any promises on these fronts yet." While there are no guarantees that Light of the Mountain will ever arrive on these platforms, it's always good to hear that a developer is  at the very least looking into it.

To make up for the delay, SongHouse Games released a handful of new screenshots showing a variety of locations that will be featured in Light of the Mountain. These images range from scenic mountain ranges, a castle, and also the main character's home. You can check out these new screenshots at the bottom of the page if you would like.

While delays are never fun, they often do provide developers with time to make their game the best it can be. Light of the Mountain is slated to release on PS4 and PC when it arrives in January 2018.
