Blog Herding – The Best Blogs Of The Community (September 21, 2017)

by Game Informer Editorial on Sep 21, 2017 at 10:55 AM

Just so everyone knows, Blog Herding will be on hiatus next week as I go out west for my honeymoon! But we will be back the following week with tons of blogs!

Community Blogs For September 14 – September 20:

My Top 25 Games At 25
Justin Mikos doesn't believe in ranking games (me too), but he decided to round up some of his favorite games to celebrate turning 25. He does have the caveat that this list could change based on how he feels (I get that), but it is a pretty fun, interesting list.

Why Doom On Nintendo Switch Is More Important Than You Might Realize
The Nintendo Switch has done well, but McNutty891 is convinced that having Doom on the platform is a big win. Sure, Doom, Skyrim, and Wolfenstein might be a little late to the party, but it's great to see Nintendo getting more third-party support.

5 Games That I Wish Had Online Multiplayer
We have a list-heavy week this time, and here MikComposer writes words about some games that need online multiplayer. It is an interesting list. I think more games need online cooperative, so I am on board with more online features. Always.

Game-Making Challenge: No Man's Skyward Sword
Haley Shipley is a hardcore Zelda fan, so when she writes about Skyward Sword, you should pay attention. But what she wants here is a mashup of Skyward and No Man's Sky, which is interesting. "I want a Zelda game that doesn't just tell you to save Zelda, but explains what it means for you to do it. Skyward Sword got close...". Good food for thought. Hire her, Nintendo!

JJBAxP4AU: Shattered Stars
Christopher Koep is all about anime fighting games. "Even when they suck, they're still pretty fun as fan service games." I agree, especially when it comes to Dragonball fighting games. Here he writes about his two favorites: Persona 4 Ultimax and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. I haven't played either, but they sound like fun.

Combined Literature
It's been a while since anyone wrote about characters who should be in Smash Bros, but StarterPack does just that. He has interesting choices in Contra and Metal Slug characters, but he gives some sound, fun reasoning. I'm all for more characters in Smash.

Writing Challenge:

Nothing this week.
