Naughty Dog has shared some new concept art for The Last of Us: Part II. Posted on Twitter, the art shows off main character Ellie and her tattoo that we saw in the game's announcement trailer.

It's a pretty cool design, featuring a moth and two different pieces of greenery.

Tattoo artist Natalie Hall designed Ellie's tattoo. She had her hands scanned for The Last of Us: Part II's announcement trailer for the close-up shots of Ellie playing guitar. According to game director Neil Druckmann, Naughty Dog used a "brand-new hand-scanning process" for the sequence.

Before Naughty Dog's artists put the tattoo into the game, they did a test using a Sharpie on the arm of UI artist/designer Alexandria Neonakis.

The Last of Us: Part II was officially announced at PlayStation Experience last week. The game is only in the early stages of production, according to Sony, so you shouldn't expect it to come out soon. You play as Ellie in the sequel in a story that's at least partially about "hate," according to Druckmann.

Composer Gustavo Santaolalla, who won Oscars for Brokeback Mountain and Babel, is returning to write the music for the sequel. The Last of Us 1 co-director Bruce Straley is reportedly on a sabbatical and will not direct the sequel.
