John Wick has a new dog in John Wick: Chapter 2, and based on this clip, he appears to be a solid pup.
It was the death of John Wick’s puppy — a gift from his late wife — in the first movie that led to Wick’s vicious and lethal escapade through New York City. Although the new dog is very much alive in the scene, producer Basil Iwanyk told a panel at New York Comic Con in October they would have to wait until the film was released to find out the fate of the Wick’s new companion.
The clip also reintroduces Wick to The Continental Hotel, a place where assassins can theoretically go and mingle, exacting business deals without worrying about retribution. John Wick: Chapter 2 takes place pretty soon after the events of the first film, and based on Wick’s appearance in the video, it seems like he’s ready to jump right back into the driver’s seat.
John Wick: Chapter 2, which stars Ruby Rose, Common and will reunite Keanu Reeves with his The Matrix co-star, Laurence Fishburne, premieres in theaters on Feb. 10.
