New Spider-Man: Homecoming tease shows Spidey flying, full trailer this week

Spider-Man receives a gift

Sony has released a 17-second teaser trailer for its upcoming Spider-Man: Homecoming film, with the full trailer being released on Jimmy Kimmel later this week.

The clip doesn’t show off too much, but does give us our first look at Spider-Man in action in his own stand-alone movie. When Happy Hogan, Tony Stark’s assistant, sees Tom Holland’s Peter Parker wearing an outdated uniform, he informs him that stark has sent him an upgraded costume that he can wear instead.

The clip ends with Holland telling the camera that “This is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen” and a reminder that the full trailer will premiere on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Dec. 8. Kimmel has also hosted premieres of other Marvel trailers, and ABC, the network his show airs on, is owned by Disney, Marvel Studios parent company.

Spider-Man: Homecoming marks the feature-length return of Spider-Man to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Holland was first seen in Captain America: Civil War. Holland has signed on for at least three feature-length Spider-Man movies, and six overall Marvel appearances.

Spider-Man: Homecoming will hit theaters July 7, 2017. The trailer will debut on Jimmy Kimmel Live! at 11:35 p.m. ET on Dec. 8.
