The singer who performed the national anthem at Donald Trump's inauguration has spoken out against him over protections for transgender students. Jackie Evancho, 16, said she wanted to "enlighten" Mr Trump on the issue. On Wednesday, Mr Trump overturned Obama-era guidance allowing transgender students to use school toilets matching their gender identity.
Critics of the order said it threatened other students' privacy and safety, and states should decide their own rules. The vocalist said she was "obviously disappointed" about his move, and she wanted to meet the president to tell him what her sister Juliet, who is transgender, endured at high school. In an interview with ABC News, Juliet said she dealt with discrimination "every day", with people saying "horrible things" to her. She said a situation where transgender students' rights over toilet use were unclear was "unsafe". Mr Trump's move on Wednesday will have no immediate impact, because Mr Obama's directive has already been temporarily blocked by a judge in Texas. The Obama directive sparked a backlash across the country, with legal challenges from 13 states.
A letter sent by the Trump administration to US schools on Wednesday said the previous measure had caused confusion. Last May, Mr Obama's justice and education departments instructed public schools to allow transgender students to use whichever bathroom corresponded to their gender identity. Though not legally binding, Mr Obama's order warned schools they could lose funding if they did not follow the new guidance. The Obama administration's policy was based on its interpretation of Title IX, the federal law that prohibits sex discrimination in education. Mr Obama argued that protection extended to gender identity. The fact that the Left encourages this deviancy is criminal!
When I see a transgender, I am so uncomfortable when I see them attempt to look feminine by the use of their hands. I am reminded of the movie Tootsie when he/she was practicing reading the script with Jessica Lange and tried to look feminine drinking a glass of wine - it just doesn’t work.
I feel for these confused individuals but they are focusing on the wrong part of their body if they want good mental health.
Also, I don’t know anything about Jackie Evancho or her brother but I am reminded of the attention that the Kardashian sisters got and how Bruce Jenner may have been affected by that. It is tough to be a man with all that powerful estrogen so why bother? If you can’t beat’em, join’em.

The only reason certain people are selected to win these contests is to advance an agenda. I would assume that they already had her preselected because of the transgender issue.
I remember many years back when it was being gay, having AIDS, being and activist for AIDS, etc.
Today it’s trans.

Transgenders are screwed up people in their head, and have been encouraged by parents, schools, and society.. which is getting screwier every day.
Someone should have told them early on, to get a life! and stop dragging themselves through the mud with this really bad idea of “being different to the point of ridicule”.
I don’t get the parents who let their young children do this to themselves.
