Pokémon Sun and Moon will let you fight some very familiar faces

Or so we Red.

Thought you knew everything about Pokémon Sun and Moon? Turns out there are still some surprises in store.

Today's latest trailer confirms the final evolutions for each of the three Starter Pokémon (which first leaked from the game's demo code last week).

A set of four island Guardian Pokémon is also detailed, one for each of the major Alolan areas. Alolan Persian, also from the above leak, is finally confirmed.

But the biggest surprise by far comes from the reappearance of original trainer and rival duo Red and Blue, all the way from the Game Boy era. They're all grown up! And you can fight them both. (And, amusingly, Red retains his silent protagonist status by not speaking).

I recently went hands-on with Pokémon Sun and Moon's first two hours and came away impressed by how the games refresh the series' usual starting rituals.
